Title: Firmware Test Engineer

Location: Columbus, Indiana/ Remote

Duration: 12+ Months

Technical/Functional Skills:

Responsible for planning and implementing the testing of existing and new components.

Experience Required; 5 + Years

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Firmware Test Engineer, the candidate in this role will be responsible for planning and developing the Firmware Test Strategy

Work with the Design, Firmware Engineers to create and review the test cases

Use the firmware tools developed by design teams to flash the controllers and components to perform Firmware testing

Draft the test plans and meet with Design, Firmware Engineers, and Quality team members to confirm the details of the test plan

Develop new test procedures as required for the Toyota developed forklift electrical controls and telematics systems.

Schedule tests to meet project milestones while respecting manpower and resource availability

Discuss the content of the test plans with lab technicians to develop test fixtures and facilitate testing

Candidate should be able to track the test cases and bugs on Azure ADO

Acquire and process test data, analyze the results and provide engineering interpretations

Should update project related data as required in applicable systems and ensure timely reporting and response to stakeholders

Prepare and implement improvements to processes and procedures related to testing, planning, and reporting

Analyze and countermeasure testing issues as they arise.

Skills

Minimum 2-3 years of Firmware test, Embedded testing or Firmware development experience is preferred

Required competencies - CAN communication, Modern communication protocols

Experience in Digital and analog circuitry preferred

Automotive or industrial equipment electrical system development and test experience is preferred

Experience with CANalyzer, P-CAN or other CAN data acquisition systems

Test Automation background would be a plus (Python, Test stand, LabVIEW, C etc.)

Linux development experience and experience with Free RTOS are preferred

Excellent team player with strong communication skills both written and verbal

Strong project management experience and leadership skills

Understanding of product life cycles, and application of relevant test methodologies.

Understanding of electric forklift or similar mobile products. Possess the technical ability to read, evaluate, understand, and communicate data from schematics, layouts, and technical standard documents
