AWS Data Engineer/Developer Location- Columbus, OH- Must be genuine & local to Columbus only 12+ months Any visa Must have experience working on Salesforce/Conga and other enterprise systems. Purpose of Position: The Data Engineer with AWS will work as a developer on data-integration projects utilizing AWS for Sales Experience IT including the refactoring of contract-data integrations for client Cards and the creation of new contract-data integrations for client Shares and Leases between Salesforce/Conga and other enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our data infrastructure on AWS, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency. The Data Engineer plans and executes software configuration management processes and administers tools used for monitoring, recording, and managing changes to NetJets software and systems. The Data Engineer works closely with architects, developers, and management to refine and implement client application lifecycle process strategy and provides technical knowledge sharing where needed within the team and the Client IT organization. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other: (KSAOs) 5+ years of hands-on experience in modern software development environments. Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of data engineering principles and best practices. In-depth knowledge of AWS services and infrastructure, including but not limited to AWS Lambda, AWS Event Bridge, AWS SQS, AWS DynamoDB, AWS Step Functions, AWS S3, AWS CloudFormation and AWS CDK. Proficiency in at least one programming language for data manipulation and scripting (e.g., Python, Scala, Java, Typescript). Experience with data modeling, schema design, and optimization techniques for relational and NoSQL databases. Familiarity with big data technologies such as GraphQL, Kafka, Spark or Hadoop is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data systems and troubleshoot issues. Experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle, exposure to database development, and design pattern skills. Ability to work with both the business and functional resources to understand and define functional requirements. Experience with common development and debugging tools. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of cross-functional and cross-vendor teams and deliver to aggressive timelines. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented, and collaborative environment with minimal guidance. AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty) are highly desirable. Tasks and Responsibilities: Delivery: design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes on AWS using tools such as AWS Lambda, AWS Event Bridge, AWS SQS, AWS DynamoDB, AWS Step Functions, AWS S3, or custom scripting. Agility: Collaborate with business analysts, solution-architects, lead-engineers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and design optimal solutions. DevOps: Automate deployment and configuration of data infrastructure components using infrastructure-as-code tools like AWS CloudFormation or AWS CDK. Continuous Integration: using Playwright and Typescript, implement an automated and layered testing strategy for regression including unit tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests, and manual-exploratory testing. Observability: optimize performance and cost-efficiency of data infrastructure through monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning. Digital Safety: ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations by implementing encryption, access controls, and auditing mechanisms. Stay updated with AWS services and best practices, and proactively recommend and implement improvements to our data architecture. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data engineering solutions into our software applications and business processes. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner, providing support as needed to ensure uninterrupted data availability. Document architecture, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain system documentation. Participate in project/sprint planning, standups, and review meetings. Responsible for the timely delivery of projects as per established roadmaps by working closely with the business teams. Support future solution strategies by working closely with Business and IT Development teams. Education: Bachelors or masters in computer science or related field.
