The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the development, performance, integrity, and security of data base systems. Responsibilities: Monitor database performance, conduct regular performance tuning, and optimize queries for maximum efficiency. Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related tools. Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data reliability and minimize downtime. Create, maintain, upgrade PHP programming/scripts for use with the database. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as database backups, index rebuilding, and statistics gathering. Apply any coding recommendations and optimizations. Develop and implement data security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect sensitive information. Identify and resolve database performance issues, such as slow queries, inefficient indexing, or resource contention. Conduct database capacity planning to anticipate future storage and performance needs. Implement and maintain database monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database systems, including schema, configurations, and standard operating procedures. Generate regular reports on database performance, usage, and security compliance for management and stakeholders.
