Role: Network Security Engineer Location: Dallas, TX (locals) Duration: Contract Key skills: CNS, Network security, Cisco Note: Only H1 Visa who can share PP (Dont share GC, GC EAD, H4, OPT/CPT) Role Description: Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Security Engineer with expertise in network security principles and Cisco technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security solutions to safeguard our organization's infrastructure against cyber threats. This role requires a deep understanding of network security concepts, hands-on experience with Cisco security products, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity and availability of our network systems. Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and configure network security infrastructure utilizing Cisco security products such as Cisco ASA, Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), and Identity Services Engine (ISE). Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate potential security risks and vulnerabilities within the network environment. Implement and manage firewall policies, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and virtual private networks (VPNs) to protect network resources and data. Monitor network traffic and security alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner, including investigating and analyzing security breaches. Collaborate with internal teams to develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Participate in security incident response activities, including incident investigation, containment, and remediation. Stay abreast of emerging threats and security technologies, and make recommendations for enhancing network security posture. Provide technical guidance and support to junior members of the team, as needed. Work closely with vendors and service providers to evaluate and implement new security solutions and technologies. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Certified Cisco Network Professional (CCNP) Security certification preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience working in network security engineering roles. Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco security products, including Cisco ASA, Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), and Identity Services Engine (ISE). Strong understanding of network security concepts, protocols, and best practices. Experience with security assessment tools and techniques, such as vulnerability scanners and penetration testing. Proficiency in network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VPNs, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP). Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
