Job Title: SQL Server Database Administrator Job Location: New York, NY- (Mon-Thru ONSITE) Duration: Long Term Contract Interview: Telephonic & Zoom/Skype Were looking for an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team. As an SQL Server Database Administrator, your responsibilities will include: Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment. Managing SQL Server databases. Configuring and maintaining database servers and processes. Monitoring system's health and performance. Ensuring high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security. Analyzing solving and correcting issues in real-time. Providing suggestions for solutions. Refining and automating regular processes, tracking issues, and documenting changes. Assisting developers with query tuning and schema refinement. Providing support for critical production systems. Performing scheduled maintenance and supporting release deployment activities. Assist in the consultation to application development teams on Microsoft SQL Server technical issues and techniques. The ideal SQL Server Database Administrator will have: Bachelors or masters degree in computer science or equivalent education and experience. 8 - 15 years experience as a SQL Server DBA or similar role. 5 years experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO). 5 years experience with backups, restores and recovery models. 5 years experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server. 5 years experience with Windows servers, including Active Directory. Extensive experience writing T-SQL and stored procedures and query tuning on high transaction systems. Experienced in ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) development / data integration. Sound knowledge of RDBMS concepts, database architecture and SQL/T-SQL. Ability to develop procedure documents and maintain detailed database related documents. In addition to the above, we're interested in: Individuals who have a sense of ownership, pride in your performance and its impact on the companys success. Critical thinkers with problem-solving and time management skills. Good communicator. Having worked in the financial domain is a big plus.
