Remote Possibility: 100% remote but requires the ability to go into the office when requested on any given day. Candidate must be local to one of the mentioned above location hubs. Duration: 12 Months Positions Contributions to Work Group: Digitals Advanced Data Quality (ADQ) team at Caterpillar seeks a talented and motivated Project Manager. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating activities of a team of data scientists/analysts focused on improving data quality. Responsibilities include defining and implementing quality metrics, performing root cause analysis of data quality problems, and developing algorithms as well as ML/AI models to address challenging data quality issues. Additionally, this role involves interaction with the wider engineering organization to coordinate across different processes. Education & Experience Required: Bachelor's in CS or Engineering with 10+ years of experience. Preferred: Masters in CS or Engineering with 10+ years of experience. Technical Skills (Required): 5+ years of Analytical and AI experience. 5+ years of project management experience on medium-sized teams. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps. 5+ years of experience as a software developer or product owner. 5+ years of experience leading a technical team while managing multiple projects. 3+ years of experience with the Agile methodology. Ability to communicate effectively to ensure team success. Experience with enterprise-class software solutions, B-to-C a plus. Technical Skills (Desired): Masters with 10+ years of experience. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred. PMI or PMP certification preferred. Strong ability to work independently and good time management skills. Strong leadership and mentoring skills. Strong knowledge of agile methodologies. Strong knowledge of production processes and quality control. Strong knowledge of business and management principles. Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps, Power BI, etc. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently or collaboratively. Passion for technology and eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment. Soft Skills: Attention to detail. Highly developed interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent presentation skills. Experience collaborating with leadership. Typical Task Breakdown: Support multiple projects concurrently. Consult with various stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve problems. Interpret and follow organizational goals, policies, and procedures. Provide support in capturing work items in MS Azure DevOps. Assist in removing roadblocks identified by the sprint team. Create user stories for defined features. Update fields on features and assign bugs. Understand capacity and resources for programs/quarters. Develop dashboards to track project activity. Produce reports, status updates, etc. Create, implement, and facilitate production processes. Host meetings and discussions. Represent the team in cross-functional meetings. Create and review project plans. Coordinate project activity. Interaction with Team: New team: generative AI team. Work Environment: WFH with occasional office visits. Disqualifiers/Red Flags: Choppy or short tenure. Not residing in one of the Hub locations. Lack of a minimum of a Bachelors degree.
