| Title: MongoDB Database Administrator (DBA) Location: Dallas, TX {Hybrid} exp:10+ Job Summary: As a MongoDB Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of MongoDB databases. You will work closely with development teams to support their database needs, optimize queries, and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Additionally, you will be involved in database design, capacity planning, and implementing best practices for MongoDB deployment. Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain MongoDB database instances. Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficiency. Troubleshoot database-related issues and perform root cause analysis. Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures. Design and implement backup and recovery strategies for MongoDB databases. Perform database migrations and upgrades as needed. Collaborate with development teams to design schemas and optimize data models. Automate routine database tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell). Conduct regular performance tuning and capacity planning. Document database configurations, processes, and procedures. Stay current with MongoDB features, updates, and best practices. Provide technical support and guidance to development teams as needed. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proven experience as a MongoDB Database Administrator or similar role. Strong understanding of database principles, including normalization, indexing, and data integrity. Proficiency in MongoDB query language and administration tools. Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques. Familiarity with database security best practices and implementation. Ability to troubleshoot database-related issues and perform root cause analysis. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems. Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation. Certification in MongoDB Administration (optional but preferred). Preferred Skills: Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS DocumentDB, Azure Cosmos DB). Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, or Grafana. Experience with database replication and sharding.
