| Direct client position Position: RPG Developer Duration: 6 months then will convert to a permanent position Location: Montgomery, Alabama (Onsite from Day 1) Only USC and GC Candidate Skills Required: Software languages: CL/400, RPG/400, ILE RPG, SQL RPGLE; Experience Required: Must have 8 years plus of verifiable RPG programming experience on an AS400 system in the last 12 15 years. Must be able to qualify for State of Alabama, Merit employment as a Programmer Analyst. It is the intention to convert this contract position to a permanent position within 6 months of employment. Desired Experience: Query 400, Aldon Change Management Software, ImagePlus Operating systems: AS400 Screen Design Aid (SDA) with extensive work with sub files Ability to analyse complex situations and to make sound decisions based on various combinations of partial information, personal knowledge and acceptable levels of risk Competent to work at all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities Windows and MS Office Tools Skills Preferred: The requirement for this position is a solid educational background and the following potential abilities and skills: Develop new or enhancement programs based on technical specifications presented Collaborate with Business Analysts concerning testing and training Analyse and resolve technical problems and software bugs Maintain and enhance existing applications Work independently as well as with other team members Multi-Task and work on multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment Perform all or part of full life cycle development process with an emphasis on developing business applications Support existing applications, modifying/enhancing them and current needs, and implementing the changes necessary as the needs of the business units change Develop and document workarounds for functional issues Troubleshoot real-time production issues Be responsible for supporting testing of enhancements and fixes Be capable of recommending solutions and identifying required program corrections Contribute towards enterprise-wide metrics collection and participate in action plans Conduct in-depth analysis of Service Requests raised by clients Document new/changed operational procedures Ensure static data/configuration/set ups are accurate Participate in peer review processes Respond in a flexible manner and to reprioritize work as situations change Required Knowledge: T Must be able to learn current software systems and tools as they relate to the team. Must have the ability to understand business requirements and assist with documentation using the MS Office Suite. The ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems is also a skill that is mandatory. Education Required: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field.
