| From: Javed, Innowox [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Job Title: SQL Database Architect Location: Washington, DC Contract Healthcare is mandatory This senior position entails leading the development of database schemas, stored procedures and functions and advance scripts in SQL Server on the cloud and other database platforms for high-volume, mission critical use. The role will primarily focus on the technical design and maintenance using the technologies listed below, as well as the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies. Proven ability to organize workload and priorities and complete tasks on time & to work effectively in a team environment. Acts as a resource for other software engineers; and a liaison between technical delivery and other analysts, as well as the business team. Key Responsibilities: Design normalized and denormalized database schemas for enterprise-level data warehouse and ETL processes on SQL Server. Build, test and analyze complex stored procedures, functions and scripts for use in data automation and data collection. Analyze performance and query efficiency in the related technologies to improve or design code which executes optimal queries and data operations against very large datasets. Architect solutions in Azure cloud DB environments, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of data services and infrastructure. Develop and optimize high-performance SQL databases, applying best practices in database design and management specific to healthcare data sets, such as patient records, claims data Collaborate with healthcare professionals, policy experts, and cross-functional teams to translate complex healthcare requirements into effective technical solutions, aligning with broader enterprise architecture goals. Drive the adoption of modern data technologies and practices, including data modeling, data integration, and data warehousing, to enhance data accessibility, quality, and governance. Lead the integration of healthcare data sources into a cohesive data ecosystem, facilitating seamless data exchange and interoperability. Required Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience developing code and processes in SQL Server or related technology is required. Experience in Azure cloud storage is required. Knowledge of SSIS and Python is preferred. Ability to independently review existing code and leverage to build new processes and scripts is required. C#/.NET knowledge is beneficial. Outstanding troubleshooting skills. Strong foundation in SQL database development, performance tuning, and optimization. Demonstrable hands-on coding skills in languages such as SQL, Python, or similar, with the ability to prototype solutions and lead by example. Deep understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes, with experience in designing solutions that support both real-time and batch data processing. Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and data security practices. Familiarity with HIPAA and other healthcare-related regulatory and compliance requirements. Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and the capability to drive architectural decisions at the enterprise level. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making processes.
