Esp with pytorch, tensorflow, embeddings, image segmentation, etc. If they are using a named algorithm (BERT, ELMO, VGG16, XGBoot, etc) its probably a plug-and-play job, if they are naming types of algorithms (Transformers, FCNN, RNN, GRU, Sentence embedders, auto-encoders, etc) then they are probably designing the models themselves. Bonus: as usual, any experience as a software engineer, applied mathematician, devOps, mlOps, databricks, spark, etc are good. These arent directly on target, but are good supporting skills.
