Title: PostgreSQL DBA Engineer Location: New York City, New York (Hybrid) Summary This person will be working a hybrid remote/onsite schedule as part of the Technology Systems Infrastructure department in New York City. Ideal candidates will have strong experience with database technologies, specifically expanding from Microsoft SQL and Oracle to include other Open Source relational and NoSQL engines, including PostgreSQL. The consultant will work within the DBA team and will interact with members of the infrastructure team, front office developers, project managers, and business users. You will work in a fast-paced environment to provide support to the trading business for Front/Middle/Back office. Overview The candidate must have strong knowledge of PostgreSQL Servers, Database management, security enhancement including CIS benchmarks for PostgreSQL and AD authentication. Daily Responsibilities: Support PostgreSQL Server platforms (PostgreSQL 15) Provide system design, administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, DB installation, DB backup and restore, database replication setup and maintenance, database development and tuning, user supports, security hardening such as CIS deployment and maintenance. Research and recommend innovative solutions and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks Implement monitoring tools and proactively implement improvement steps to prevent potential issues. Troubleshoot and solve incidents quickly to maintain the high availability environment Carry out annual Disaster Recovery test. Work with Cyber Security and Audit teams to maintain stable and efficient Postgres platform Late night and weekend work may be necessary at times for installations, patching, upgrades, and maintenance Follow the change control processes and procedures The candidate is required to update/maintain all documentation and will be tasked with improving such documentation as required. Maintain effective communication with the Systems Infrastructure team and management Required Experience and Knowledge: We are looking for a PostgreSQL DBA Engineer with 5 to 7 years of experience Experience with PostgreSQL 15 administration.
