Collaborate with software architects, database architects, design analysts, business analysts, and others to understand business requirements. Develop, implement, and optimize stored procedures, views, materialized views, functions, triggers, and synonyms using T-SQL with all the necessary error handling. Analyze existing SQL queries and tables for performance improvements. Refactoring of existing database objects to synchronize data between a new data model and with older databases. Suggest performance improvements including indexes and constraints. Suggest new queries. Keeping objects, schemas, and data consistent across multiple databases and servers. Document new database objects. Other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate must have: Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2019. Experience using SQL Server Management Studio. 5+ years of experience minimum designing and building T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and synonyms. Error handling via TRY/CATCH with event logging. Understand locking and block management. Experience using temporary tables and memory optimized tables. Experience building and using dynamic SQL. Experience working with temporal tables. Experience creating and optimizing table indexes. Optional: Experience using SQL Prompt, SQL Assist, SQL Complete, or Apex. Optional: Experience importing data into SQL Server databases. Optional: Understand SQL Server security and user administration. Optional: Experience working with extended properties. Optional: Experience documenting database objects. Optional: Experience with version control software and Azure DevOps. Optional: Experience building reports using AWS QuickSight, SSRS, Crystal Reports, Tableau, or Power BI. Optional: Experience building and debugging AWS Lambdas to execute TSQL Stored Procedures. Optional: Experience working with AWS RDS. Other Requirements Ability to read and understand visual data models. Knowledge of best practices for database storage management. Have excellent communication skills. Able to work directly with application developers to create robust database solutions. Able to work directly with QA Testers to debug and solve problems with TSQL. Ability to learn and support new and existing applications. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and manage time effectively. Strong collaboration skills.
