Job Title Mainframe Tape Storage Engineer Job Location -Fully Remote - End Client -Dell EMC Duration - 6 Months+ Visa -Any Visa except H1B,cpt Mode Of Interview - Phone/Skype Note - Need LinkedIn Opening -2 Job Description General Role Description: Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applications Participate in various projects intended to continually improve or upgrade the infrastructure Evaluate internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals Review and analyze high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the future Design, build, deploy and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with the team and third party vendors Make decisions in technical designs, implementation plans and identify project risks and resource requirements Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and achieve results Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, leaders, & technology vendors to resolve issues and achieve goals Required Qualifications: 4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. 4+ years of experience with zSeries mainframe and/or storage systems. 3+ years of experience supporting virtual tape systems. 2+ years supporting technology hardware break/fix or Tech Operations experience. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work in a collaborative virtual organization. Demonstrated skills in working independently and delivering solutions on schedule. Ability to provide on-call 7x24 support and work occasional off-shift hours as needed to support projects and change events. Proficiency with productivity & collaboration tools: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams. Occasional travel if needed. Desired Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in mainframe support and engineering. 7+ years in-depth experience with mainframe storage management tools and virtual tape systems, including troubleshooting and tuning tape storage infrastructure. 5+ years of experience with open systems concepts and architecture. 5+ years engineering experience with IBM Virtual Tape Systems (TS7700/TS4500). Demonstrated skills with the following: zOS, IDCAMS, standard IBM utilities, ISPF, a tape management system such as CA-1 or RMM, JCL, SMS/OAM, SAMS/DMS, HSM, REXX, SAS, Python, job scheduling systems like CA-7 & 11. Understanding of Unix/Linux, TCP/IP, SSH, Putty, encryption, RESTful APIs. Bachelors degree.
