Either Mon-Friday 8hr days with unpaid lunch break OR the option to work 10hr days Mon-Thurs with Fridays off (example 730a-600p w/ 30min lunch or 7-6 with 1-hr lunch) which is what most of the team do. Citizenship: USC, GC because CJIS required Contract Length: 6 months+ - looking to extend resource Background: CJIS & Drug Screen Required Strong Active Directory and Windows Server OS skills are a must. Nutanix experience , that would be most helpful, but may be hard to come by. Projects: rebuilding servers, migrating file shares, etc. They are opening an new law enforcement center so this position is important. Mid-level, if possible - at least 3+ years of experience; it is a small team of 5 people including the cto. Summary of Duties: The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining and updating the Enterprise Server Environment as required through the change management process. The Systems Administrator also serves as an escalation point for service issues and requests. Generate change requests; provides assistance in determining the need for a change request; implements changes. Coaches and transfers knowledge to less experienced team members. Conducts research on hardware and software products to provide recommendations and to support purchasing efforts; understands requirements. Fields incoming issues and problem tickets and escalations from end-users to resolve systems issues. Records, tracks, and documents the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution. Maintains and enhances performance of all new and existing server technology solutions across the organization. Tests fixes and performs post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately been resolved. May post software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked question resources on company intranet to assist in problem resolution. Performs preventive maintenance, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, anti-virus software, etc. May participate in the design, development, and delivery of server training programs and individual classes. Follow standard best practices for processes and procedures Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work schedule is essential Marginal Duties: Other duties as assigned, including after-hours assigned work and on call responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge: Proven experience in the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products. Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices. Working technical knowledge of current software protocols, and Internet standards. Extensive experience with core technologies, including Windows Server OS, Office 365, and virtual environments. Excellent software troubleshooting experience. Working knowledge of server and PC operating systems as well as Microsoft Active Directory. Excellent understanding of the organizations goals and objectives. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. Skills: General project management skills. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities. Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation. Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Experience: One (1) to three (3) years of experience in Systems Administration supporting Windows Operating Systems as well as virtual environments. Experience with Nutanix AHV is preferred. Licenses and Certifications: Must have a valid Class C Drivers License prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class C drivers license within 30 days of hire per state law). Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)- Server Administration (current supported Server Operating System) or equivalent certification.
