From: sachin chaudhary, K&K [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Position: Splunk Engineer Location: DALLAS,TX/ Jersey City(Onsite) Department: Data Management Department, Analytics Report & AI & Client Engineering Team Position Summary and Principal Responsibilities: This role is within the Data Management Department, specifically in the Analytics Report & AI & Client Engineering team. The team is responsible for maintaining the firm's reporting and analytics tools and infrastructure. However, this position primarily focuses on working with Splunk tools, including Splunk Cloud, Splunk Enterprise, ITSI, and Observability. Responsibilities: Lead engineering and development projects independently from inception to completion. Provide technical and operational support for our customer base and other technical areas within the company utilizing our tools. Manage risk by reconciling vulnerabilities, ensuring security baselines, and addressing other risk and audit-related objectives. Perform administrative tasks for Splunk tools, including maintaining documentation and handling service requests. Participate in a rotational 24x7 on-call Level 3 support schedule with other team members. Conduct user training sessions to increase awareness of Splunk. Ensure timely resolution of incident, problem, and change tickets, escalating technical and managerial issues as needed. Adhere to DTCC's ITIL process for incident, change, and problem resolution. Qualifications: Moderate to advanced proficiency in Windows and Unix-like operating system principles. Strong project management, communication (oral and written), and personal effectiveness skills. Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project. Proficiency in SQL and relational databases. Experience developing and interfacing with REST APIs. Solid understanding of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals. Expertise in engineering, configuring, deploying, and supporting Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Cloud, ITSI, and Observability. Proficiency in creating and optimizing Big Data correlations using Splunk's search language (SPL). Ability to optimize and tune logging source streams. Develop Splunk reports to meet the requirements of key stakeholders. Familiarity with Amazon AWS products and services such as EC2, BeanStalk, Lambda, VPC, Route 53, Amazon FW, API Gateway, ELB, CloudTrail, and CloudFront. Minimum of 4 years of related Splunk work experience with expertise in ITSI. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Shell, and JavaScript. 4+ years of experience in Splunk engineering/support in a production environment, covering all phases of lifecycle management: planning, design, deployment, upkeep, and retirement. Developed competency with Splunk in a production environment. Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. Certification in any of the listed tools is a plus but not required.
