| From: Ansar Alam, Resource Consulting Services Inc [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Position: Mainframe Systems Programmer Location: NYC (Onsite) Duration: 6+ monthsClient: NYC FISA-OPA Eligibility: USC, GC only Role Overview: NYC FISA-OPA seeks a z/OS Systems Programmer to undertake ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and administration of the mainframe z/OS operating system, storage systems, and associated software products. The role involves providing production off-hour coverage and support for weekend implementations as needed. Key Responsibilities: Perform ongoing maintenance, patching, upgrades, and administration of z/OS operating system, storage systems, and associated software products. Conduct upgrades of mainframe and related storage systems. Provide production off-hour coverage and support for periodic weekend implementations. Experience with VTAM and TCP/IP. Install, patch, and administer z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, and IOCP/HCD. Perform basic IBM utilities program product installations and have working knowledge of the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services. Familiarity with CICS, IMS, DB2, and AFP printing is advantageous. Utilize monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON. Work within an enterprise-wide, large-scale implementation. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities. Experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a relevant technical field or 10+ years of experience. Extensive experience (10+ years) working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD. Knowledge of IBM utilities such as IDCAMS, IEFBR14, etc. Note: Candidates must have the required USC or GC status.
