Role :- FW developer (USB) Location :- Redmond WA/ Mountain view CA (Day 1 Onsite) Job Description :- The ideal USB developer will be involved with all phases of product development, from microarchitecture design through firmware architecture, development, and maintenance. In addition, He must have strong organizational skills, facilitation skills, ability to collaborate across other stake holders. Responsibilities and Duties A Firmware Developer (USB) will be involved in the USB stack development and/or maintenance of the USB stack/firmware His primary responsibility will be collaboratively work with the other developers to understanding and troubleshooting USB related issues and resolve them in time Preferred Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's/masters degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related field 4+ years of experience in the firmware development Experience in developing firmware for BareMetal or SOC using programing languages like C/C++ or Python. Experience with low level drivers development and troubleshooting for peripherals such as USB 1.2, USB 2.x, USB 3.x, USB class specific drivers like CDCI, HID, Audio or mass storage devices (USB Thumb drive), USB based Hubs, composite devices etc.. Experience with Platform initialization, Board support package porting Desired Skills Experience with Platform initialization, Board support package porting, low level drivers for peripherals such as PCIe, I2C, SPI, UARTs as well as Memory Management, Scheduling, Interrupts, and multi-threading. Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD process are plus Development with Agile process is plus Knowledge in Powershell and python is plus Notes from Client: USB is a specialized community, so it is not surprising that automated searches would have trouble finding this specialization. So what we need to be looking for are candidates that can transfer specialization skills in a similarly complex technology over to USB. Could just as well have been an internet, aerospace, or defense candidate looking to make a change. The skills I am looking for are not expert in USB but expert in complex protocols with the ability to test/debug/communicate about issues. If you see candidates that have done that once or twice already (say, moved from networking to automation), then they have demonstrated that ability.
