Deep data analytics experience ------------------------------------------------ Data Engineer Consultant OVERVIEW The Business Analytics (BA) team is a lean, technical, cross-functional analytics team that serves the Toyota and Lexus Divisions by delivering insights and analytics solutions that provide centralized access to and analysis of data stitched together from disparate internal and external sources. The Business Analytics team is seeking a highly technical, qualified Data Engineer to lead development activities from a position of technical expertise. Deep data analytics experience is required, without exception. RESPONSIBILITIES Technology Architecture and Integrations Responsible for the design of an end-to-end business analytics solution architecture that combines one or many of cloud, AI, automation, blockchain, data management, integration technologies and other multi-vendor capabilities, and become the trusted advisor to design innovative solutions that drive business value Drive data source vendor alignment with analytics architecture design, prioritizing acquisition and integration of raw data feeds from vendors, over access to vendor applications Work closely with ITs Marketing Technology and Analytics Platforms team to understand and optimize enterprise ITs best practices and policies Data Engineering and Analytics Within a functional support area, responsible for the Business Analytics Teams data acquisition work (API, FTP, SFTP, S3, etc.), ensuring development according to best practices related to authentication and security, in accordance with enterprise IT guidelines Within a functional support area, responsible for the Business Analytics Teams data transformation work, ensuring quality development using tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Talend, Databricks, SSIS, Informatica, and/or programming languages such as SQL, Python, Spark, Scala, or R, in accordance with enterprise IT guidelines Oversee developers in the design and development of analytics solutions Develop standardized and scalable data ingestion and transformation patterns and processes in accordance with best practices, using various database and data transformation tools, platforms, and technologies Review and refine data flow design and appropriate data models to fulfill business requirements Partner with IT to ensure alignment of strategy, priorities & timely delivery of analytics platform and infrastructure where applicable Monitor analytics platform and infrastructure performance from a Business Analytics perspective, and escalate data completion, accuracy, latency issues with front-end teams and IT as needed Work closely with front-end data analysts/developers to understand requirements and use of the data Support ad-hoc analytics needs from a back-end data perspective by developing ad-hoc/prototype analytics solutions and assisting in data interpretation Communicate project status, risks, dependencies and roadblocks for technical and business audiences Mentor analytics teammates in technical design of analytics solutions Identify and help implement opportunities to enhance analytics platform and infrastructure Contribute to the Business Analytics Teams data visualization work within a functional support area, ensuring feature-rich, quality development using tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, and/or Looker Partner with data scientists on the use of statistical and artificial intelligence / machine learning techniques, such as Logistic Regression, Time Series Analysis, Experimental Design, Causal Inference, Generalized Linear Models, Mixed Modeling, Text Analytics, Multivariate Statistics, Large-Scale Predictive Modeling, CHAID/decision trees, Gradient Boosted Trees, Random Forests, and Neural Networks Team Leadership, Business Engagement and Stakeholder Communication Align closely on current business problems and team priorities with business unit executives and stakeholders Coach and guide teammates, empowering them to identify, raise and resolve problems Implement and execute agile principles, communicate project status, risks, dependencies and roadblocks for technical audiences and business stakeholders Engage team members across the organization to define, track, and report on KPIs SKILLS Required: Bachelors Degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science or Data Science; or Equivalent related professional experience Deep experience operating as the technical lead on high-performing analytics teams Deep experience providing analytics support to business departments such as e-commerce, sales, marketing, product management, finance, or operations research Deep expertise in data engineering or data analytics, using tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Talend, Databricks, SSIS, Informatica, and programming languages such as SQL, Python, Spark, or Scala Expertise in data architecture and related best practices Experience developing or partnering with data scientists on AI/ML/statistical modeling projects using programming languages such as R, Python, Scala, Spark, SageMaker, Jupyter Notebooks, BQML, TensorFlow, etc. Preferred: Experience with building analytics platforms on Cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS Masters Degree Keywords: business analyst artificial intelligence machine learning sthree active directory rlang information technology Texas Data Engineer PLANO TX In person [email protected] |
