Job Title: Data Scientist Location: Hybrid / 51 Madison Ave, Manhattan, NY (Tue, Wed & Thurs is Onsite) Duration: Full Time Client: New York Life Interview Process 3-round interview process. 30-45 mins with the HM Panel with 4 team members. Final on-site interview with 3 team members HM, HMs boss, and another team member. Job Description: Skills: 3-5 years in Finance/Insurance Strong modeling/model validation experience. Predictive, ML, AI models are preferred. Should have a range of experience when it comes to modeling. If a candidate only has experience with one type of financial model, they probably will not get picked up on. Needs to be very strong in Python. Masters degree. STRONG COMMUNICATION AND WRITTEN SKILLS Qualifications: Education: Masters degree or higher in statistics, computer science, mathematics, economics, engineering, or other technical field 3+ years in a similar role in statistical model risk management Experience in statistical modeling techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, survival analysis, GLM, GBM, neural nets, feature engineering and selection, and validation. Experience with comparing methodologies Strong proficiency in programming using Python, R, and SQL Experience with statistical modeling using large and complex datasets Strong verbal and written communication skills, listening and teamwork skills Job description: You will apply your highly developed technical predictive analytics skills to review and validate a variety of models, create and maintain an inventory of production models. You will apply your communications skills working closely with data scientists and data engineers to ensure proper modeling processes are following during the model development lifecycle. Responsibilities: Methodology review and leadership: Reviews model designs, statistical methodology and features. Explores methodology options, stays up-to-date on statistical/ML/AI methods research Model validation: Performs independent validations of data and models prior to implementation.
