Role:- Sr. Network Engineer Location: Cleveland, OH ( Onsite)- Only local The Contract Network Engineer's role is to provide technical support to the Global Network Services teams and address the project workload of the teams. The primary project is to assist the cyber security teams in the installation of Palo Alto firewalls into large facilities across the world. When not actively supporting the primary project, this role would provide support for other initiatives include wireless access point replacement and general network maintenance. Direction would come from the Team managers or Senior management. Essential Functions Contribute to planning process to identify roadblocks before implementation. Participate in implementation planning with a focus on minimizing operational downtime at the facilities. Deploy network solutions that simplify processes, optimize service delivery and/or solve problems. Operational Objectives Collaborate with Global Network Services and Cyber Security to functionally implement the Palo Alto firewalls into the SW network. Assist network services teams in replacement of SDWAN routers, access points replacement and general network maintenance. Incidental Functions Assist with Change Management preparations and implementations. Attend meetings in participation with the team. Assist with other projects as may be required to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the group. Position Requirements Formal Education & Certification Training in areas of network services preferred (Cisco SDWAN, MPLS, IP Routing, L3/ Switching, DNS/IP management,) CCNA or better preferred. Knowledge & Experience 3+ years IT experience. Fundamental understanding of SDWAN and routing protocols, (Cisco SDWAN, Viptela, BGP, Eigrp) Fundamental understanding of Cisco L3/ switching. (Catalyst 9K experience preferred) Fundamental understanding of Firewall operation and troubleshooting. (Palo Alto preferred) Strong understanding of Layer3/Layer2 networking. (IP Routing, Trunking, VLANs, Spanning Tree, Etc) 2-3 years' experience with network hardware/software trouble-shooting preferred. 1-2 years installation and support experience in a Large SDWAN/LAN networking environment with focus on limited downtime during project implementations.
