Quality Assurance Analyst

Must have Public sector Exp.

This is a first-come, first interview. The due-date is Immediate.

Client: The Employees Retirement Systems of Texas (ERS)

LOCATION: Austin, TX (ERS is currently working on a hybrid model with at
least 2 days per week onsite. Candidates must reside in or relocate to the
Austin area.)

DURATION: Initial contract for 990 hours (6-month contract) with highly
anticipated extensions. This is typical of ERS contracting for 6 months at a
time and continual extensions.

EXPECTED PAY: Up to $40/hr., C2C

USC/GC/EAD

JOB DESCRIPTION/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Performs highly advanced testing and analysis of ERS production systems
and applications. Responsible for the development, validation, execution and
documentation of test plans and test scripts, including unit testing,
comparison testing, regression testing, integration testing, and performance
testing. Responsible for testing and automating testing of large amounts of
data in SQL Server database. Works closely with Business Analysts, Production
Control and Operations, and Development throughout the design and execution of
test plans. Works under the general supervision of the Quality Assurance
Manager of Information Systems with moderate latitude for use of initiative and
independent judgment.

Qualification Requirements:

Education and Training:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. Each
year of related experience

over the required may be substituted for one year (30 semester hours) of
required college credit.

Experience Requirements

7 years experience in progressively demanding quality
assurance processes and techniques over

the full software li
fecycle: implementing, upgrading and
maintaining.

4 years experience in using SQL to create queries.

4 years expert level experience in testing and automating testin
g of large amounts (millions of

records) of data in SQL Server database

Proficient in the use of VB Script and/or other languages used in
automated testing

Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience in testing PeopleSoft Pension, Benefits Administration and
Financials.

Experience in testing SharePoint /K2

Experience in testing .NET

Extensive knowledge of the quality assurance process and techniques
over the full software

lifecycle.

Must be proficient in the use of automated functionality testing tools.

Ability to perform testing in a large, highly integrated system.

Must possess sound analysis and documentation skills.

Must have excellent communication skills to work with all aspects of
the IT organization as well as

functional users and management.

Must be capable of attaining and sustaining the cooperation of other
personnel within the agency.

Essential Functions:

Develops detailed test plans for complex computer applications.

Reviews user requirements and works to resolve discrepancies and
clarify processes.

Writes and edits detailed test cases based on business user
requirements and functional

specifications.

Employs automated testing tools to perform functionality testing,
including, functional, regression,

and system tests to ensure that product is working as expected.

Employs automated tools to test large amounts (millions of records) of
data in the SQL Server

database

Mentors other team members on use of automated functionality testing
tools

Assists in conducting and coordinating all phases of testing.

Assists functional users involved in User Acceptance Testing and helps
verify test results.

Documents expected and actual test results and records bugs using an
automated bug-tracking

tool.

Identifies issues as a result of testing and coordinates resolution.

Documents test status, outcomes and metrics.

Assists with coordination and verification of various levels of
sign-off.

Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave and attendance
policies.

Complies with all applicable agency policies and procedures, including
safety and standards of

conduct.

Performs on-call or scheduled after hours work as required.

Performs other duties as assigned by the manager of Quality Control.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Attends meetings and calls regularly and punctually.
