The Clinical Informatics Specialist plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between healthcare operations and technology. They are responsible for ensuring seamless integration of technology solutions within the healthcare environment, supporting clinicians, and driving process improvements. This role involves a combination of clinical expertise, technical knowledge, and change management skills. Training and Support: o Train end-users (clinicians, nurses, etc.) on technology systems and applications. o Provide ongoing support to users, addressing questions and issues related to technology. o Collaborate with operational leaders to understand their needs and translate them into system requirements. o Assist in the development of training materials and documentation. Change Management: o Participate in all stages of technology changes, from specification development to implementation. o Work with requesters to understand how technology functions should align with organizational objectives. o Translate organizational needs into functional requirements for technology solutions. o Develop communication and training plans for technology changes. o Support clinicians through change management processes. Project Responsibilities: o Participate in project-related activities, including kickoff, workflow analysis, training, and regulatory compliance. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical informatics, operational leaders, and other IT teams. o Ensure successful implementation of technology projects. Qualifications: Clinical Background: o Preferred: Nursing degree or equivalent clinical experience. o Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting. Technology Skills: o Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems. o Preferred: Experience with Altera Sunrise Clinical Manager or similar EMR systems. o Familiarity with change management principles. Soft Skills: o Individually driven and accountable. o Strong communication and project management skills. o Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
