Role: Java Developer with Kafka Location: Burlington, MA (Only Locals with Valid Local ID) Duration: Contract Key Skills: Java, Kafka Note: Only H1 Visa who can share PP (Dont share GC, GC EAD, H4, OPT/CPT) Role Description: Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy scalable and high-performance Kafka-based solutions for real-time data processing, event streaming, and message queueing. Work closely with architecture and infrastructure teams to design and implement Kafka clusters, topics, partitions, and replication strategies for optimal performance and reliability. Develop Java applications and microservices that integrate with Kafka clusters to publish and consume messages, handle message processing, and manage data pipelines. Implement Kafka Connectors to integrate Kafka with other systems, databases, and messaging platforms to facilitate data ingestion and extraction. Write efficient and reliable Kafka producers and consumers using the Kafka client API and libraries to ensure message delivery, fault tolerance, and data consistency. Optimize Kafka configurations, message throughput, and latency to meet performance and scalability requirements for high-volume and low-latency applications. Monitor Kafka clusters, topics, and brokers using monitoring tools and metrics to identify performance bottlenecks, errors, and failures, and implement remediation measures. Troubleshoot and debug Kafka-related issues, such as message loss, duplication, and out-of-order delivery, and implement solutions to mitigate risks and ensure data integrity. Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to automate Kafka deployment, provisioning, scaling, and monitoring using configuration management tools and CI/CD pipelines. Stay updated on the latest Kafka features, best practices, and industry trends, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 10 years of experience in Java development, including hands-on experience with Java EE or Spring Framework. 10 years of experience in designing, implementing, and deploying Kafka-based solutions in production environments. Strong understanding of Kafka architecture, internals, components, and ecosystem, including Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, and Kafka MirrorMaker. Proficiency in Kafka administration, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting using tools such as Kafka Manager, Confluent Control Center, or Cloudera Manager. Experience with message queueing systems, stream processing frameworks, and distributed data platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Pulsar, Apache Flink, Apache Spark). Solid understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and microservices principles. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to debug complex distributed systems and resolve performance issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
