Please let me know your interest in the below role- Network Engineer II WAN/LAN Chicago, IL ( Onsite, hybrid later, Local to Chicago only) 6 Months contract to hire Visa: USC or GC Video Interviews The NE II is responsible for maintaining and implementing WAN/LAN systems. The NE II must be able to maintain the network management platforms, firewall security, RAS system, and others as required. The Network Engineer supports and improves the customers large-scale IT environment with SLRs/SLAs for high availability and uptime. The Network Engineer manages, maintains, plans, schedules, integrates, and troubleshoots the overall network and its devicesWANs, LANs, WLANs, VPNs, VoIP, etc.and monitors network health. The Network Engineer will handle network installation planning, upgrades, cutovers, and testing. The Network Engineer will implement network security best practices. Below are the basic qualifications possessed by Network Engineer II. Education: Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience: This position must possess a minimum of five (5) years of continual computer networking experience. Certifications: CCNP, or equivalent experience Skills Software: Cisco IOS Cisco NX-OS Windows Server Windows 10/11 PRTG Cisco FirePower Cisco ASA Network Hardware: Experience with Cisco Nexus platform 5k, 7k. Experience working with Cisco Catalyst 6500 series switches. Experience working with an enterprise or carrier-class Cisco routers. Network Connectivity: Large Server Environment Experience Managed Operations Processes Knowledge of Internet Infrastructure Firewall, Security, and Load Balancing Server/Network Monitoring Tools Communication/Matrix Management Skills Abilities Technical Good aptitude for troubleshooting, problem determination, and resolution Self-starter Ability to work independently, as well as within a group setting Strong knowledge of TCP/IP DNS/DHCP knowledge and experience Cisco firewall software configuration and management experience Experience with Network Monitoring tools (Link Analyst, Solarwinds) Network monitoring and security knowledge. Remote Access implementation using VPN and Dial-Up Wireless Networking Client Service Courteous, helpful, and tactful in all communications Strong leadership skills, able to lead and motivate a team of network professionals and have strong customer service skills. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Administrative Make appropriate use of technical documentation, specialized test equipment, and diagnostic aids in resolving technical problems.
