Proficient in configuring and managing IMS in a parallel sysplex environment. Skilled in developing strategies and best practices for IMS systems programming. Experienced in establishing policies and procedures for database management, DR, security, and maintenance. Ability to review new versions of IMS for functionality and advise clients on benefits. Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving production database issues. Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to support requests from multiple clients. Additional Qualifications: Database Administration knowledge. Familiarity with IMS database organization using VSAM and OSAM access methods. Experience with various database organization types, including HALDB, Fast Path databases, and logical databases. Proficiency in database design and related utilities, including DBD source coding and PSBGEN. Knowledge of IMS reorganization utilities and database recovery activities. Experience in database monitoring, space management, and performance issue resolution. Familiarity with online tracing and program/transaction monitoring tools. Knowledge of DFSERA10, DFSUTR20, and DFSUTR30 utilities for extracting information from IMS logs. Understanding of DBRC usage for database activity monitoring.
