Job Title: Lead WS Data Engineer (10+ years of exp) Location : Newark, NJ On-site ( locals prefer ) with linkedin Position Type: Contract INDEPENDENT VISA Job Description: Our client, a global financial company, is seeking a skilled AWS Data Engineer to join their team. As an AWS Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining efficient and reliable data architecture and code within AWS environments. Your responsibilities will include developing data ingestion pipelines, ensuring optimal performance and quality for high-scale projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain data ingestion pipelines (AWS-based, on-prem to AWS, etc.). Participate in architecture and system design discussions. Independently develop and conduct unit testing for applications. Collaborate with development teams to integrate individual components into complex enterprise web systems. Identify and resolve performance issues. Stay updated with new technology developments and implement them when applicable. Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to standards and best practices. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or related field. Experience implementing and supporting data lakes, data warehouses, and data applications on AWS for large enterprises. Proficiency in Python, Shell scripting, and SQL. Strong familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Glue, EMR, Redshift, DynamoDB, Lambda, Step Functions, IAM, etc. Experience with AWS data lake solutions and serverless application development using AWS Lambda. Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and end-to-end data solutions on AWS. Experience with CI/CD implementation for data pipelines. Familiarity with AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certifications is preferred. Understanding of Lakehouse/data cloud architecture.
