Role: Lead Security Engineer Location: Chicago, IL (Only Locals with Valid Local ID) Duration: Contract Note: Only H1 Visa who can share PP (Dont share GC, GC EAD, H4, OPT/CPT) Role Description: Responsibilities: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint protection, data encryption, and access controls. Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices. Conduct risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities, assess the effectiveness of existing controls, and recommend remediation strategies. Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents, investigate security breaches, and coordinate incident response efforts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security requirements into the design and development of systems, applications, and infrastructure. Provide guidance and mentorship to security team members, including engineers and analysts, to enhance their technical skills and knowledge. Stay up-to-date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies to proactively address security risks and improve defense mechanisms. Participate in security reviews and assessments of third-party vendors and partners to ensure they meet security requirements and standards. Manage relationships with external security vendors, consultants, and service providers to support security initiatives and projects. Prepare and present security reports, metrics, and recommendations to executive leadership and stakeholders to communicate security posture and risk profile effectively. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; Master's degree preferred. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or other relevant certifications preferred. 10 years of experience in information security, with a focus on designing, implementing, and managing security infrastructure and controls. In-depth knowledge of security technologies and tools, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, antivirus, encryption, and access management solutions. Strong understanding of networking protocols, architecture, and security principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and routing protocols. Experience with cloud security principles and best practices, particularly in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, NIST, and ISO/IEC 27001. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop practical solutions. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Proven leadership abilities, including experience leading security projects, teams, or initiatives.
