The developer will be working to build out new functionality within the ten workflows in Appian 5 years - Appian Development Experience with integrations, IDP and AI a plus, they will be helping to integrate the different workflows and products that Deloitte, KPMG and Accenture are building 5 years Experience with Web API calls: REST, SOAP, JSON, XML 5 Years - SQL, Object Oriented Programming Language, and Web Application fundamentals Secondary Skills - Nice to Haves Job Description The Texas Secretary of State (SOS) is responsible for two main divisions: Elections Division, Business and Public Filings Division: The State's "giant filing cabinet", Additional Duties - the Secretary of State serves as the governor's lead liaison for Texas Border and Mexican Affairs. In this capacity, the secretary manages an array of issues that involve the Texas-Mexico border and Texas' relations with Mexico. There are ~200 people in the agency but they serve over 3.5 million companies and people in Texas. SOS is going through a large technology modernization effort across the agency called MULET - Modernization & Upgrade Legacy Enterprise Technology. SOS has identified ten different products and will be working to modernize those over the next two years. The products are business filings, notary two different products, UCC, authentication and apostilles, Texas register, trademark, registrations, and service process. SOS is working with multiple vendors such as Deloitte, KMPG and adding new vendors who are building out the products. They are looking for a contract to hire resource to support the agency long term in this effort and after. The goals and objectives for MULET are to develop modern SOS systems that include but are not limited to the following: Provide a secure, more efficient, feature-rich and user-friendly customer experience Enable enhanced SOS employee efficiencies and effectiveness through technology Reduce the number of paper submissions and manual processes Improve customer satisfaction and efficiency by reducing the rejection rate of submissions Replace aging and unsupported technologies with modern tools and solutions Enhance data management capabilities and reporting Day to Day Application Development Responsibilities: Be the go-to developer for the agency to support them in the modernization efforts Help build a layer of shared services. They are working to modify the shared services and how to do reuse within Appian.
