Position: Site Reliability Engineer Location: 100% Remote Duration: 6+ months Job Description: Our client has a remote contract need for aSite Reliability Engineerwhowill collaborate in a DevOps model with product development teams to design, deploy, and manage automation tools that increase predictability and time to market. Job Description: The Connect SRE team is seeking an engineer who will love to seek automation over repetitive tasks, are well-versed in AWS services, have a desire to continually learn, have complex distributed system experience, and like engineering software solutions to solve cloud-related problems, then you will thrive in this position. About you: 4+ years of DevOps or SRE experience, hands-on AWS cloud services. 3+ years of hands-on experience with infrastructure automation technologies (terraform preferred), CI/CD, dockerization, and scripting like python, shell or yml etc You take ownership of the quality of your individual work but also take pride in what you deliver as a team; your focus is on a successful outcome for all. You enjoy writing production software in at least one typed programming language and have built infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation. You code like a Software Engineer, but you think like a Product Manager. Our stack includes: Cloud: Amazon AWS( Cloudfront, S3, VPC, EC2, ECS, Lambda, and many more) Serverless: AWS Lambda , API Gateway, SQS Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Cloudformation Telemetry: New Relic, CloudWatch Security: AWS WAF / AWS Shield / IAM / Systems Manager Containers: ECS, ECR DevSecOps: Artifactory, Jenkins, SonarQube, GitHub Enterprise and more Web: Apache httpd Apps: Java, NodeJS, Angular Ember Database / Cache: Oracle Rac, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DocumentDB , DynamoDB, ElastiCache (Redis) Analytics: Kinesis, CloudSearch Programming: Python, Bash, Ansible What you'll do: Act with ownership of reliability, uptime, system security, cost, operations, capacity, resiliency, and performance analysis thereof. Build collaborative solutions for enterprise applications with development teams utilizing our software stack. Ensure repeatability, traceability, and transparency of our infrastructure automation (infrastructure-as-code, monitoring-as-code). Implement telemetry and monitoring that alerts on symptoms rather than on outages. Support on-call rotations for operational duties that have not been addressed with automation, with an eye for correcting issues that result in on-call alarms. Strong applied knowledge of the following: Architecting, implementing, and managing AWS hosting. Continuous-deployment software development lifecycles (e.g. CI/CD). Troubleshooting diverse sets of hosting technologies: web server platforms, application platforms, operating systems, network components, virtualization technologies, storage, and database platforms. Designing and managing escalation response plans including monitoring, response, remediate, and retrospection providing a great customer experience. Building and managing highly scaled production infrastructure in the cloud. Strong communication, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and systems engineering skills.
