Azure Architect Location- Sumter, South Carolina- onsite/hybrid Start: ASAP 6+ months Provide candidate salary conversion: Important notes: Position on-site is just west of Sumter, South Carolina. Required to work onsite 4-days a week and 1-day a week will be remote Must be a US Citizen Ability to obtain proper security clearance Additional details from client.. Additional skill set details: need the stated Azure skill set stated in the position details below along with Kubernetes cluster, working knowledge of RMF controls and security best practices, build and maintain relationships with project stakeholders, coordinating meetings, establishing requirements based on client needs (stated and observed). This person will need to be the day-to-day face contact. Position Summary information: Primary responsibility will be supporting customers moving to Azure. This highly visible position will be working with customers in the capacity of helping them modernize and move to the cloud. Focus will be on utilizing Azure as a PaaS (Platform as a Service) rather than just IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service). Leading the design and being the point of contact for a given application, assisting with driving delivery of the customers' desired technical outcomes, position does not require actual application development or migration of the applications. Will be working with the customers on creating high-level requirements and producing small POC / Design documents on how Azure can be utilized for new applications or migrating existing applications to Azure. Duties: Architecting applications that are either being developed on Azure as well as applications that are being migrated to Azure. Managing the technical design of cloud services that span storage, networking, and compute cloud capabilities, with an understanding of each service across the full IT cycle. Make recommendations for cloud migration on services to use for optimal performance and scale, as well as provision, ensure sufficient capacity, monitor and adjust as appropriate. Convert the technical requirements of a cloud project into the architecture and design. Bridging the gaps between complex business problems and solutions in the cloud, while working with other members of the technology team including DevOps Engineers and Developers to ensure that the right technology or technologies are being built. Work with internal and external stakeholders who are both technically as well as non-technically skilled. Minimum Requirements: 7 years of Azure Architecture experience. Be a US Citizen. Ability to obtain proper security clearance Required to be onsite near Shaw AFB 4-days/week. Strong background in cloud computing with deep understanding of: Azure Virtual Machines, Storage, Virtual Networking, Inter-site Connectivity, Monitoring, Data Protection, Network Traffic Management, Azure Active Directory, Security Identities, Governance & Compliance, and Data Services. Excellent understanding of networking: TCP/IP, IP addresses, HTTP, DNS. Possess a good understanding of computer programming and scripting languages while possessing a high-level understanding of key security concepts in the cloud. Experience planning and migrating existing workloads to the cloud using cloud native tooling and be familiar with automated deployments and Infrastructure as code concepts. Must be able to articulate your ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. B.A. or M.S. Degree in Management Information System, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
