Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, and 5 to 7 years of experience in networking and system administration. Requires extensive experience and knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments, Cisco, local and wide area networks, and security. Prior management experience required. Working experience L and thorough understanding of SANs, backup systems and disaster recovery, and emergency preparedness strongly desired. Network certifications in Cisco (CCNA or CCNP) and Microsoft Windows Server preferred. Thorough knowledge of network operations (LAN, WAN SAN, network attached devices, etc.); Ability to manage, direct, motivate, and build a cohesive network team; Ability to manage staff in a collaborative environment, following Stafford County values; Ability to evaluate staff performance, develop, and recommend training; Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively both vocally and in writing and to follow vocal and written instructions; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, superiors, other departments, outside agencies, and vendors; Ability and willingness to effectively work as part of a team and to demonstrate team skills to perform a fair share of team work responsibilities.
