If a candidate does not have all the technologies listed, would there be technologies you would consider similar and/or transferable for this position Primarily the candidate would be working on mainframe Cobol system. So Cobol, JCL, DB2, SQL, etc. 6. What skills are you looking for in the ideal candidate (Please feel free to add more bullet points!) Preferred: 1. Cobol 2. DB2/SQL Nice to Have: 1. Any distributed technologies (Java, Python, Typescript, etc) 2. .NET 3. AWS (or other cloud experience) Qualifications: Associate's or bachelor's degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field or equivalent experience) and 4-6 years work experience or equivalent experience. Proven experience as an IT professional. Ability to obtain certification(s) in an IT related field is a plus. Basic knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred. Basic planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making and communication skills required. Proficiency with database applications, knowledge of mainframe, distributed and/or web programming language. Basic leadership skills preferred. Excellent time management skills preferred. Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality. Must have the desire to learn new technology and continuously grow. Ability to work on cross-functional teams and collaborate with both It and non-IT partners. Some travel may be required, including overnight stays. May be required to provide on-call support. Responsibilities: Able to work with guidance on software development/solutions. With guidance, conduct analysis and development, elicit requirements, write correct and clean coding, automated testing, debugging, documentation, quality assurance review, implementation and maintenance. Able to work with guidance on multiple layers of the solution if needed. Participates in technical design of features. Comments/Special Instructions Need to add a software engineer with experience with .NET for our stock services group.
