Position: Active Directory Windows Architect Location: Remote Duration: 6+ Months Mode of Interview: Phone and Video Job Description: Looking for a Senior Windows AD architect that can stand up a new AD environment within AWS. Not really looking for an AWS DevOps engineer with a Windows background. Rather, a senior Windows Engineer/Architect that has supported AWS or performed a migration to AWS. AD Admin/Windows Admin Job Description/Day to Day Responsibilities: Stand up a new AD in AWS alongside the one they have on-prem Lots of integration points with AWS that we must consider when doing the migration AD architecture setting up OUs, replication, site design, set up user groups, identity of machines, group policies, management of forests, replication quality, backups and recovery will probably be don on the AWS side. (this is a critical) Design, deploy, and maintain Windows server infrastructure on AWS cloud, leveraging services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS, and Amazon VPC. Configure and manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy services in the AWS cloud environment. Implement and maintain security policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of Windows-based systems on AWS. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to identify and resolve root causes, utilizing AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools. Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for Windows-based systems on AWS, utilizing AWS Backup or third-party tools. Automated routine administrative tasks using PowerShell scripting and AWS automation tools such as AWS Systems Manager. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define technical specifications, and implement solutions that meet business needs. Lead the technical design and implementation of Windows server projects on AWS, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards. Skills Needed: Strong proficiency in Windows Server operating systems (Windows Server 2012/2016/2019) and Active Directory. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS, Amazon VPC, and AWS IAM. Experience with AWS automation tools such as AWS Systems Manager, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CLI. Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.). Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration tasks. Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls for Windows-based systems on AWS. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
