Job Role: Backend Engineer location: Remote Duration: 6+ months At the time of submission, H1/EAD applicants must provide their passport number. Pay Rate: $50/hr on C2C (Need someone who can join early as this is a replacement.) Summary This position is for a Software Engineer (Cloud Services), who will help us design & build digital solutions to support customers as well as store associates across online and store experiences. We are building an omnichannel digital platform for our customers and store associates using some best-in-class frameworks, platforms, & technologies such as AWS, Lambdas, Node.js, and TypeScript. Primary Responsibilities Work as a backend engineer, building microservices using TypeScript. Contribute to design discussions and provide researched opinion on industry standards/best practices. Take ownership of key components in the digital platform, right from inception to post-production. Collaborate with other developers, architects, product & project managers, etc. in a cross functional team. Essential Abilities, Skills, and Experience Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent. 5+ years of experience delivering web/mobile applications. Must be a hands-on engineer in TypeScript/JavaScript. Ability to build end-to-end solutions independently. Full-stack experience will be valued but is not necessary. Ability to build scalable and high-performance Web APIs (REST) and API management. Hands-on experience building websites using Java with Spring Boot or NodeJS with JavaScript/Typescript. Experience with AWS Serverless Cloud native services with Lambda functions, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, API Gateway or equivalent. Knowledge of caching frameworks, data structures, and distributed systems fundamentals. Understanding of databases, NoSQL data stores, storage, and distributed persistence technologies Experience with automated testing, deployment pipelines and cloud-based infrastructure.
