Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Cloud Systems Development Engineer to join our team to work on a Cloud Services contract to streamline and enhance our customer's systems infrastructure, focusing on reducing manual processes and improving overall system efficiency. This is a full-time remote position.

HOW A CLOUD SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Design, develop, and deploy robust automation solutions within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and other cloud environments.

Integrate diverse systems and services utilizing APIs and cloud-native technologies.

Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles across various cloud deployments (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand operational requirements and identify areas for automation.

Stay up-to-date on emerging cloud technologies and best practices.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED - REQUIRED:

CITIZENSHIP
: US Citizen

CLEARANCE
: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

CERTIFICATION
: Google Cloud or other Cloud certification (i.e. AWS, Azure, Oracle, etc)

EDUCATION
: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline; OR equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.

YEAR'S EXPERIENCE:

----- 8 years experience

----- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in software development and systems engineering, with significant emphasis on cloud environments.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

----- Demonstrated expertise in one or more cloud providers (preferably Google Cloud Platform).

----- Strong proficiency in programming languages like Python, Go, or similar scripting languages.

----- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

----- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.

----- Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.

----- Knowledge of network engineering and cybersecurity principles.

----- Familiarity with data management and analytics in a cloud environment.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
 Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

The likely salary range for this position is $130,690 - $196,036. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
