| From: sarfaraz, convextech Inc [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Role: Redhat/Linux System Administrator Duration : 12+ Month contract Visa: USC or GC only Location : Hybrid ONSITE (Indianapolis, IN), must be a local candidate Job Description In this role, you'll be supporting a Linux Red Hat environment, VMware, and HPE storage environment. This role is hybrid, mostly remote but with as-needed site visits and occasional on-call requirements. You'll be working 4 days a week/32 hours and will have the opportunity to supplement additional hours when the other team member is out/needing additional support. 70% of your time will be spent managing problem tickets and service requests. Red Hat related tickets will include hardware troubleshooting, contacting OEM vendors for warranties, managing and updating Linux operating systems, completing data backups daily, ensuring file system shares are backed up successfully, setting up and removing users, installing patches, etc. You'll be handling similar trouble tickets related to VMware and enterprise HP storage devices relevant to installations, configurations, managing environments, installing critical operating system patches, etc. Another 10% of your time will be spent on basic user administration tasks, doing routine audits of software and proactively looking at capacity planning for Linux VMware and Storage. Another 5% of your time will be responding to software alerts, and the rest of your time will be spent monitoring all 3 environments proactively.
