Demonstrated experience in using VMware, Dell Hardware, Ubuntu, AWS Workspaces or other technologies from an architecture, engineering and content developer perspective is required. Holding the CompTIA Linux+ or equivalent is preferred. Any VMware or Linux certifications are a plus. This position is remote and will support the Client MSS Customers and Security Operations Center (SOC). This position is in direct support of a Client customer in the government sector. Preference will be made for candidates who can support non-business hours when needed. Responsibilities: Provide technical and infrastructure management for Platforms (Architecture, Engineering, Administration, Security Management) infrastructures including VMware, Dell Hardware, Ubuntu, AWS Workspaces, and other best-in-class products. Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot client specific Platform environments. Complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner with effective progress reporting and issue escalation. Seek innovative ways to improve the process of delivering solutions to clients. Serve as technical point of contact on client engagements. Maintain the health, performance, and tuning of the Platforms and coordinate with department stakeholders when new technologies are implemented to ensure appropriate data ingestion. Develop scripts and automation processes that perform tasks such as desired state security configuration, systems deployment and management, or application-level configuration. Serve as a hands-on technical resource working directly with various internal teams that include staff from development, management, cloud services, and executive leadership to provide guidance and ensure solutions adhere to security policy and industry best practices. Create and document procedures and work instructions for use by the SOC staff (Tier 2 through Tier 3) and internal teams. Ability to work with provided security and application policies to design and implement network and security rules and configurations across various Platforms. Manage, develop, and tune integration with ServiceNow. Monitor the impact of deploying new content on the health and performance of the Platforms. Collaborate with application owners to define and establish logging and policy standards to address various governance requirements. Maintain enterprise Cyber Security Engineering requirements for Platforms including new and existing products. Candidate Requirements: Candidate should have strong communications skills, both written and verbal, and be comfortable presenting information to teammates, customer technical personnel and Client Leaders and Managers. The preferred candidate is required to have: Demonstrated experience using either an Enterprise and or cloud Platform technologies as an engineer and architect. Ability to support and work across multiple customer and internal systems. Must be able to pass a CJIS background check process and other background checks to comply with customers contracts. Complete basic safety and security training to meet the customer requirements. Ability to work non-business hours as required. Selected candidates must be US Citizens. Candidate Preferred Requirements: The Preferred candidate holding one or more of the industry certifications will be a plus. VMware Certifications CompTIA Linux+ certification or equivalent/higher Other Certs - such as CompTIA Networking+, any Cloud Certifications Eight (8) years of Linux (Ubuntu) Engineering and other tools, and scripting experience.
