SalesForce support Engineer The Salesforce Operations team is looking for an engineer or senior engineer contractor. This role is hybrid in-office (3 days in office). Preference is for Phoenix, New York is also fine. They'd be in at local hours, so for Phoenix they'd be working 9am - 5pm Phoenix time when in office. Description: This is an engineer role on the Salesforce Operations Team. The Salesforce Operations team performs software engineering and support for the Enterprise Salesforce group's salesforceoperations. This includes DevOps, Admin Ops, Platform Health tracking, Monitoring & Alerting, Dev enablement, and a few limited cross-functional Salesforce software assets. This engineer role involves some Apex and LWC/Javascript code on the Salesforce platform, and a large amount of Javascript code (using the NodeJS framework) outside the Salesforce platform. Responsibilities: * Work as part of a scrum team on leadership-prioritized work within the team's tech remit, they'll work closely with other team members on development, code review, and roll-out. * Design new code and changes to existing code. Read, edit, and write code to resolve team priorities. Perform other auxiliary functions (pull requests, etc) that are part of software development. * Work to identify, communicate, and resolve defects, * A small percentage of this role (because we don't have dedicated support staff yet) is end-user support of the development teams that are among our stakeholders. Some 15% of the engineers time will likely end up going to this end-user support and training. If the team is doing well it will be even less. * Willingness to take on backlog items that involve non-code work, this will be a small percentage of backlog items. * Actively and enthusiastically participate in team scrum activities and should be proactively thinking about how to solve technical challenges facing the team, bringing to the table their own ideas about how to solve problems. * Willingness and capability to independently research and make recommendations and technical designs to challenging technical problems. * This role will require on-call hours one evening (6-9pm) one Thursday every two weeks. Requirements: * > 1 year of experience as a salesforce developer, including javascript development * Must have very strong coding skills and some technical design skills. Must be able to read code and write code quickly, explain what's going on / why they made the decisions they did, and be able to figure out roadblocks on the fly.
