| Oorwin Email Hello Position: Banner Developer / Banner Application Developer / Business Intelligence Specialist / Reports Writer / Oracle PL/SQL Developer Location: Chicago, IL - Onsite (5 Days / Week) Duration: Long Term Contract Must Have: 10+ Years of Experience Skills: Banner, PL/SQL, Argos Experience with the Ellucian Banner Finance Module. Supporting the office of the CFO and the Finance Department to develop critical business reports for the department. The reports focus on the make up the universitys budget, expenses, accounts payable, accounts receivable, the State of Illinois funding and expense reporting. The data is stored within the universities ERP platform, Ellucian Banner support by an Oracle Data Base. The reporting platform is Argos. Reporting to the Finance Department Manager, supporting and maintaining the Financial Departments processes and procedures. The Senior Argos Business Intelligence Specialist will execute their duties in full alignment within university policy under the supervision of the Department Manager in all aspects of the departments reporting of operations, issues, and their resolution. Responsibilities Client utilizes the Ellucian Banner ERP platform for all university business operations including student enrollment, financial transactions, employment, and vendor relations much like major corporations utilize their ERP platforms. This staffing opportunity is being sponsored by the universitys Finance Department. They are seeking the assistance of an Information Technologist trained and experienced in the functions of the day-to-day operations of a standard finance office. This would include having knowledge and experience in the areas of the Accounting, Finance, and Business functions within the Ellucian Banner Finance Module. As an experienced Information Technologist working with Ellucian Banner and Evisions Argos and utilizing analytical tools such as PL/SQL retrieve from Banner, analyze using Evisions Argos and deliver critical departmental reports to senior university leadership. Such as financial reports covering income sources (student, government, grants, etc..), budget and budget projections, spending such as payments, including outstanding or late payments. You would be expected to write new retrieval queries, update current outdated queries, and customize reports as required by the university to provide the insights necessary to make timely, better-informed decisions. As the Argos Business Intelligence Specialist, you will be expected to deliver flexible, powerful, easy-to-understand reporting, providing Universitys Senior Leadership with the ability to make knowledgeable and informed business decisions. Reports reflecting performance-based measures such as income, budget/spend performance by department, business function, and the ability to generate reports that highlight major red flags and business alerts for key stakeholders across the university including their governing boards. Experience & Education Required: College Graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Business Administration with a focus in Finance or Accounting. Candidates having an MBA would be a big plus. 10 + years experience utilizing Argos or other Business Intelligence platforms. Experience working with/within the Oracle Data Base Platform. Experience and basic understanding of ERP platforms, Banner ERP would be a big plus. Proficiency in ARGOS Reporting tool, Oracle PL/SQL, Advanced Java and C# programming; experience Seven years or greater of finance reporting experience, all of which included performing duties comparable to those listed above.
