| From: Zara, Tech Brand Staffing.LLC [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Must have 15+ years of experience Must be local to Richmond, VA Job Title: IT Infrastructure Project Manager PMP- Hybrid Role Location: Richmond, VA Duration: 6+ Months Contract Client: State of Virginia Job Description About the role: The client dept Information Technology Division is seeking a senior Infrastructure Project Manager to manage and deliver a complex IT project(s) with multiple teams and work streams coordinated to an aggressive delivery schedule. Under the program manager, the project manager is responsible for the outcome of the assigned projects. The project manager leads the team through the Commonwealth Standard for Project Management for successful completion of the project phases: PreSelect, Initiation, Planning, Execution and Control and Closeout. The selected candidate will: Serve as a hands-on technical project manager with development staff and business groups. Coordinate and communicate with ITD management and staff to coordinate work tasks and resourcing. Communicate timelines and expectations to technical and business staff. Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and contractors in the execution of projects including contract management and working with the procurement office(s). Adhere to dept and VITA project management practices and governance requirements; coordinate with client dept and VITA Project Management Offices. Maintain project budget, plans, tasks, schedules, risks, and status and disseminate information to team members and customers as defined in the communications plan. Ensure documentation of requirements and use cases, facilitate design workshops for assigned projects. Ensure definition of test objectives, designed test plans and test cases for assigned projects. Provide the management of project milestones and deliverables for on-time and on-budget delivery. Define, measure, and clearly communicate progress with metrics. Support system and application training efforts. Qualifications Required: A minimum of 5 years of project experience in IT infrastructure delivery, Network infrastructure, Network architecture, wireless technologies, Cloud implementation, vendor management. Familiarity with telecommunications, network technologies, network standards and practices. Manage projects consisting of network switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, fiber optics and internet services. Experience in the modern fabric-based networks - Network Fabric, underlay, overlay and SD WAN, Experience with VoIP infrastructure a plus. Experience managing large, multi-stream projects. Experience in reviewing carrier bid feedback and present carrier/circuit recommendations to the Management Committee for approval Work with the cross-functional IT teams to identify/extend, enable and deliver a scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solution that can be managed and delivered Responsibility for integrating technical knowledge and business knowledge to develop innovative solutions to automate projects activities PMP or Qualified under Commonwealth of Virginia Qualification Standards for IT Project Managers Preferred: Experience in both Agile and Waterfall project management.. Agile Scrum Master certification Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, Project Server) Special Instructions to Applicants: This position requires a fingerprint-based background check. PMP certification from PMI or PM certification from VITA is required - no other certification qualifies. Skills Matrix: Skill Required / Desired Amount of Experience Current Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) Required 10 Years Candidate must have a minimum of 15 years experience managing large projects Required 15 Years Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall project management principles. Required 5 Years Balance business/technical background with sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to technology teams.
