Job Summary: We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer with specialization in Data Pipeline to join our team in Bellevue, WA. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to coding standards. This role requires a creative mindset to innovate and optimize application development while maintaining a strong focus on quality and efficiency. The Lead Software Engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, developers, and stakeholders to interpret requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. Key Responsibilities: Interpret application, feature, and component designs to develop solutions in alignment with specifications. Code, debug, test, and document product, component, and feature development stages. Validate results with user representatives, integrating and commissioning the overall solution. Select and implement appropriate technical options for development, including reusing existing components and creating new solutions for unique contexts. Optimize efficiency, cost, and quality of software solutions. Influence and improve customer satisfaction and employee engagement within project teams. Set and achieve FAST goals for self and team. Performance Measures: Adherence to engineering process and coding standards. Timely completion of project milestones and adherence to schedule. Identification and resolution of technical issues during project execution. Defect rate in code and post-delivery. Compliance with project requirements and standards. Percent of voluntary attrition within the team. Completion of mandatory compliance trainings on time. Performance Areas: Code: Develop code according to design, define coding standards, review code for team and peers. Documentation: Create and review templates, guidelines, and deliverable documents. Configuration Management: Define and govern configuration management plan, ensure compliance from the team. Testing: Review and create unit test cases, review test plans, provide clarifications to the testing team. Domain Relevance: Advise developers on design and development, learn and contribute to the customer domain. Project Management: Support project manager, manage delivery of modules, manage complex user stories. Defect Management: Perform defect RCA and mitigation, identify defect trends and take proactive measures. Estimation: Provide input for effort and size estimation, plan resources for projects. Knowledge Management: Consume and contribute to project-related documents, review reusable documents. Release Management: Execute and monitor release process. Design: Contribute to creation of design/architecture for applications, features, business components, and data models. Customer Interface: Clarify requirements, present design options, conduct product demos, work closely with customer architects. Team Management: Set FAST goals, provide feedback, mentor team members, ensure team engagement, identify attrition risks. Certifications: Obtain relevant domain and technology certifications. Skills and Qualifications: Proficiency in data pipeline technologies such as Data Pipeline, Spark, Python. Experience with Azure Cloud, Azure Data Lake, Databricks. Strong understanding of database design principles. Familiarity with SDLC and CI/CD practices. Ability to optimize code for performance and scalability. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Experience managing and mentoring teams is desirable.
