Title : VB 6 resources Location : Remote Duration: long term Contract Job description : We have a requirement for both onsite and offshore profiles, for supporting a legacy application for one of our Client. The application was built in VB 6.0 and Microsoft SQL server as database. Please find below details on work activities, key responsibilities and preferred technical skills. Please share suitable profiles. Work activities : - Analyzes, designs, codes, tests, configures, and modifies the application using various programming languages, technologies, and development methodologies Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to guarantee availability and increase efficiency Completes technical documentation for multiple functions, including testing, QA (Quality Assurance), training, troubleshooting, operating, and/or procedures for installation and maintenance Key responsibilities : - Works across multiple business & digital areas or processes to support the application Implements and tests complex code changes to fix identified defects or enhancements to existing software products Assists in performing root cause analysis and interprets the results; provides input into action plan Independently handles/solves software/systems monitoring issues Demonstrates strong working knowledge of SDLC processes Collaborates with various stakeholders to test application solutions utilizing test-driven development when possible Continuously learns new aspects of given technology and products Will be required to work off-hours, on-call support, for weekly rotational on-call duty (anticipated approx. 1 week per month) Preferred technical skills : - Visual Basic 6 Microsoft SQL server COBOL & DB2 Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator Microsoft .Net 1.1 CICS (Customer Information Control System) middleware Visual Studio C# VB.Net SQL GitHub Rest APIs knowledge to drive the planning and execution of complex initiatives, participate in the design/ development process, and provide technical leadership, while leading a team of SWE.
