Title- Cyber Security Engineer Duration- 6+ Months Location- Oakland, CA - hybrid [ Local ] MOI - Skype. Must have certifications - CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+, bcz candidates who got interview request who had these certifications. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. 9-10 years of experience in cybersecurity, ideally within transportation or critical infrastructure sectors. Expertise in managing firewalls, Office 365 security, VSX, and endpoint security solutions. Proficient with security technologies including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability assessment tools. Strong analytical skills with a proven track record in tackling complex security issues. Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with varied teams. Must have certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+. Knowledge of Linux and Windows administration, network protocols, and system security. Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial. Eligibility to obtain necessary security clearances. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and risk analyses to detect and address security vulnerabilities. Monitor security systems for signs of intrusion, analyze security breaches, and conduct thorough investigations to resolve incidents swiftly. Enhance incident response strategies through active participation in simulations and updating of response protocols. Manage and optimize the configuration of security tools including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus software. Provide expert cybersecurity advice and support to internal stakeholders, promoting best practices across the organization. Remain at the forefront of cybersecurity developments to preemptively identify and mitigate new threats. Lead cybersecurity awareness initiatives, educating staff to foster a secure organizational culture. Formulate and execute comprehensive cybersecurity policies and procedures to protect organizational assets. Ensure seamless security integration with IT infrastructure during system and application development phases. Support compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, NIST) and assist in audit preparations.
