Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Optimize and fine-tune existing data processes for improved performance and reliability. Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to ensure data integrity and availability. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in big data and distributed computing, and proactively propose innovative solutions. Work closely with DevOps teams to deploy and manage big data applications in production environments. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Requirements: Proven experience (5+ years) as a Big Data Engineer, with a strong focus on Scala development. Proficiency in Scala programming language and experience with related frameworks and libraries (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Kafka). Solid understanding of distributed computing principles and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, HDFS, HBase). Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and proficiency in deploying and managing big data solutions in cloud environments. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment and deliver high-quality solutions under tight deadlines.
