Position: JD Edwards Migration Specialist Location: 100% Remote Duration: 6+ Months Job Description: We are seeking an experienced JD Edwards Migration Specialist to lead the transition of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne system to the AWS cloud. This role is pivotal in ensuring a smooth, secure, and efficient migration process while minimizing downtime and disruption to business operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in JD Edwards implementations, cloud migrations, and a strong understanding of AWS services. Responsibilities Project Planning and Management: Develop a detailed migration plan including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables. Monitor and report on migration progress, ensuring milestones are met and any issues are promptly addressed. System Assessment and Preparation: Conduct a thorough assessment of the existing JD Edwards environment to identify dependencies, customizations, and potential challenges. Plan and execute necessary system upgrades and optimizations to facilitate a smooth migration. AWS Infrastructure Setup: Design and implement the AWS infrastructure needed to support JD Edwards, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Configure necessary AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, and others as required. Data Migration: Develop and execute a data migration strategy, ensuring data integrity, security, and minimal downtime. Utilize AWS tools and best practices for data transfer and synchronization. Application Migration: Plan and perform the migration of JD Edwards applications to the AWS environment. Ensure all customizations, integrations, and third-party applications are effectively migrated and tested. Testing and Validation: Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to validate the migrated environment, including functional, performance, and security testing. Work with business units to perform user acceptance testing and resolve any issues. Optimization and Support: Optimize the AWS environment for cost efficiency, performance, and reliability post-migration. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for the JD Edwards system on AWS. Documentation and Training: Create detailed documentation of the migration process, configurations, and procedures. Train IT staff and end-users on the new system and any changes in workflows or processes. Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, including system administration and upgrades. 3+ years of experience in cloud migrations, specifically with AWS. Technical Skills: Proficiency in AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, and others. Strong knowledge of JD Edwards architecture, tools, and technologies. Experience with data migration tools and techniques. Familiarity with networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments. Soft Skills: Excellent project management and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications AWS Certified Solutions Architect or other relevant AWS certifications. Experience with automated deployment and configuration management tools. Knowledge of other ERP systems and their migration processes. Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
