Role: Sr. Drupal Developer Location: Albany, New York Duration: 30 Months Job ID: SLG - 19 - 9524 Client: NY State Description The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will move its public website (dmv.ny.gov) and intranet site from Drupal 7 CMS to Drupal 8/9. Along with these migrations, DMV would like to make some stylistic and functional customizations to the site. This effort requires one Expert Level Drupal Software Developer consultant 100% devoted to the DMV Web Services Office. The DMV website has many contributed and customized features: A customized site search using SOLR. A customized DMV office locator tool A customized forms search tool A customized locator tool to find participating organizations where a customer can get a DMV eye test before renewing their license. A customized tool to display regulated driving training course providers. Integration (via application program interface (API)) with a third-party email/text notification service provider Webforms (in the Webform4 module) Drivers manual test practice quizzes (using Quiz module) Image sliders Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Representation State Transfer (REST) APIs to integrate with State and external information systems. Collapsible sidebar menus The consultant will work with DMVs Web Services Office developer staff and `staff from the New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) on maintaining and improving the Intranet and Internet sites in Drupal. DMV is committed to ensuring the website adheres to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA guidelines. The consultant will participate in this effort. Duties Remediate any identified issues with website accessibility per WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines. Configure Drupal on the Internet and Intranet project including but not limited to: Menus Views Blocks Permissions Roles Content types Panels Organic Groups Caching/improving site performance. Install and configure new modules. Install and configure security and other system updates. Perform data and system analysis on site search. Perform data and system analysis of the website performance. Help DMV identify and execute solutions that expand and/or improve DMVs intranet and internet services. Work with DMV Business Unit content contributors to transfer their content to Drupal. Participate in meetings/discussions with the DMV Web Services Office developer team and Web Services Office in general. Currently the position requires at least half of a pay period to be on site, which is subject to change. However, there is the possibility of up to 100% remote depending on the candidate. Mandatory Requirements Experience (12+ Years) Is involved with all facets of the software development process, including the research, design, programming, testing and implementation of computer software Requirements This is an 100% Onsite 84 months of experience in Drupal 7/8/9/10, administering, configuring, and site-building 84 months of experience in Drupal 7/8/9/10, managing multiple approval workflows, with multiple permissions, roles, and users, etc. 84 months experience in front-end development: troubleshooting, styles/theming, templates, for Drupal 7/8/9/10, including: JavaScript, jQuery, and other frameworks. 84 months of experience in Custom Module Development for Drupal 7 and 8 and other backend development 48 months experience remediating websites to meet WCAG 2.0 AA web accessibility standards. 60 months experience with website migration from Drupal 7 to 8/9/10 48 months experience working on a website for a government agency. 48 months experience in troubleshooting site search, and search performance issues in Solr Acquia Certified Site Builder - Drupal Rsum.
