Candidates must reside in DMV+WV CareFirst is looking for a Mainframe Performance Engineer who will be responsible for monitoring/assessing system and application-level performance. Functions- Day-to-day responsibilities could include assessing the current functionality of the customer facing applications in CareFirsts Mainframe environment (z/OS, CICS, DB2, MQ), conducting forensic analysis, end-to-end performance monitoring of applications, performance tuning, checking of batch jobs, dispatching priorities, and checking of capacity and velocity. The hired resource will also work with the CareFirst Mainframe Managed Service Vendor (Ensono) to help them understand what the demands of the applications are that are running on Mainframe. Required Skills- 8+ years experience working on Mainframe environment (z/OS, CICS, DB2, MQ) 5+ years experience in Performance engineering for applications running on Mainframe environments understands how to optimize application performance and analyzing performance data. Z/OS Workload Manager (WLM) experience.
