They will manage the software installations/patching. Visa: GC and USC Top must haves: This person will be supporting the DB2 software and the overall health of the software. They must be able to verify that the DB2 system is running, work with IBM to open cases, analyze dumps, understand the backend/core to the health of the DB2, creating tables, and underlining the whole database software that other DBAs use. Finding someone with ALL the tools below will be tricky. If they have a majority, that is okay since they can learn a few on the job! Position Summary : Senior Db2 Subsystem Programmer will provide support on IBM Mainframes with the following responsibilities and tools support. Experience with Db2z DataSharing group Planning and implementing regular Db2 z/OS RSU maintenance. Planning, testing and implementing Db2 z/OS version upgrades. DB2 subsystem performance tuning such as bufferpools, workfile space, coupling facility structures. Oncall 24 X 7 support during oncall week and weekend support for all maintenance and upgrade activities Quick troubleshooting and problem solving for Db2 Subsystem, DBA and Application issues. Communicating with outside teams to provide guidance on Best Practices for our Db2 environments and Tools. Disaster Recovery planning and testing. Tools installation, upgrades and customization, maintenance and troubleshooting support of the following : IDAA ( Netezza and LinuxOne). lDAA Loader. IIDR (SQL and Queue Replication for DB2 z/OS). Admin Tool and Object Compare. Query Monitor. Db2 Sort. QMF. Log Analysis Tool. Optim. Compuware suite. POCs for replicating data from Mainframe to Cloud and ongoing support of replication tools.
