Candidate must be local to DC Area Automation Engineer Client:DC Office of the Chief Financial Officer JobID: 737842 Location:Washington DC Duration:1+ years Interviewmode: Skype Job Description A243: Test Auto Engineer *Hybrid position, currently required to be on-site at least once every twoweeks although there's a chance on-site reporting could increase* *Candidates must live within a 2-hour drive of Washington DC* The candidate is responsible for the design,development and execution of automated tests for distributed enterpriseapplications with external and internal interfaces utilizing Microservices andbusiness automation patterns. As an active participant on a scrum team, thecandidate is responsible for all aspects of quality assurance including testautomation, and development of automated processes within a testing framework.This role works closely with software engineers, fellow QA engineers, DevOpsengineers, infrastructure and security professionals. Flexibility to workcollaboratively and knowledgeably with team members of each area is vital. Thecandidate documents and works to resolve problems, reports progress on problemresolution, devises improvements to current procedures, and develops models ofpossible future configurations. The candidate will focus on the automation fortesting of the software built on a technology stack using industry standardtools. It is essential that this candidate have exceptional communicationskills and be flexible and knowledgeable with technology, environment andpriorities. Duties & Responsibilities: a. Perform and write automated functional, system, regression, and integrationtesting b. Design, develop, and execute automated tests. c. Extend and enhance existing test automation frameworks and tools. d. Ensure test environments are prepared and ready for execution of testscenarios e. Execute test cases to validate system functionality prior to releasing toUAT/customers f. Work closely with engineering and QA to manage and improve the developmentpipeline by integrating with CI/CD tools. g. Triage, document and perform troubleshooting and diagnosis of defectsreported by customers or internally to determine steps to reproduce. h. Execute regression testing to validate defect resolution and verify existingfunctionality is unaffected i. Identify, record, document test results to enable efficient resolution ofdefects j. Develop automated tests for regression and reproduction of defects k. Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools. l. Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and project managers) toidentify system requirements. m. Investigate the causes of non-conforming software n. Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defectcounts. o. Document QA procedures for team. p. Other responsibilities as assigned Qualifications: a. 4+ years of full-time professional experience with Testing Automation andQuality Assurance, and Testing Methodologies. b. Strong understanding of agile software development processes c. Strong technical skills, work ethic, independence, problem solving ability,and overall positive attitude. d. Excellent oral and written communication skills. e. Proficiency with programming languages f. Ability to manage multiple tasks with varying priorities g. Ability to communicate ideas in a variety of formats h. Proficiency with Financial Concepts, Business Math i. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-pacedenvironment and manage priorities with deadlines. j. Adheres to Agile development methodology k. Proficiency with quality assurance terminology, methods and tools l. Perform code reviews Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or the equivalentcombination of education, and successful work experience. Technical Skills: a.
