Scope of Services Background: As a result of the Department's efforts to re-engineer and modernize core financial systems, there has been over 1,500 computing assets identified as performing some level of financial planning, analysis, and management functionality that are impacted by the State of Florida's accounting system. The Florida Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management (PALM) project is a multiyear endeavor to replace the State of Florida's accounting and cash management systems with a modern financial management solution. The Florida PALM Project is targeted to replace Central, Payroll, and Departmental FLAIR functionality, with go-live scheduled for January 6, 2026. The DBA team is responsible for ensuring the application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schemas meet the department standards for data requirements. The candidate in this position will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, amendments and optimization of the schema to meet system(s) requirements. The candidate must be able to understand and demonstrate the ability to develop database and warehousing design across multiple platforms and computing environments. The candidate must be able to work as part of a team to assist in developing an overall data architecture that supports industry security standards. Experience The candidate must have skill and 15 years combined experience in database administration for the following database platforms: 1. DB2 for z/OS 2. SQL Server 2008R2, 2012 2. Oracle 10g and above 3. Experience with the FDOT integrated database infrastructure a plus. 4. Knowledge of the FDOT Financial Management applications a plus. 5. Knowledge of the FDOT integrated application environment a plus Primary Job Duties/ Tasks The activities this candidate will be tasked with include, but are not limited to the following: This resource will primarily be tasked with performing Database (SQL Server, Oracle, GIS) planning and operational activities including, but not limited to the following: 1. Daily operational and database administration activities 2. Plan, design, implement, support for database structures 3. Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning 4. Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation 5. Perform SQL Code reviews 6.
